Gedex Logistics Terms & Conditions

Effective date: August 14, 2026

These terms govern the use of Gedex Logistics' website, customer portal, package-forwarding, pickup, and delivery services. By registering, sending a package, submitting shipment information, or using a Gedex service, you agree to these terms.

Accounts and package information

Customers must provide accurate names, contact details, identification, merchant information, tracking numbers, invoices, declarations, and delivery or pickup instructions. Keep your password and GDX customer code secure, and ensure the correct customer name and code are placed on each package.

Rates and payment

The published air-freight table covers package weights from 0.5 lb through 100 lb. Weights between listed brackets are charged at the next applicable bracket. Each additional pound over 100 lb is JMD $500.00, rounded up to the next whole pound. Customs duties, taxes, delivery, insurance, special handling, storage, and other disclosed service charges may apply separately. Charges are due before a package is released or delivered unless Gedex agrees otherwise in writing.

Storage fees

Customers should collect packages promptly after they become Ready for Pickup. A storage fee of JMD $100.00 per day will be applied to packages that are not collected within 7 Jamaica calendar days of becoming ready for pickup. Storage starts after the 7-day free period and continues until the package is collected, delivered, otherwise released, or handled under Gedex's unclaimed-package process.

Customs, restricted items, and packaging

Customers are responsible for truthful declarations, values, invoices, permits, and suitable packaging. Illegal, dangerous, counterfeit, stolen, restricted, or carrier-prohibited goods must not be shipped. Gedex may inspect, refuse, hold, return, surrender, or arrange lawful disposal of a shipment when required for safety, customs, carrier, or legal compliance. Related costs remain the customer's responsibility unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Pickup, delivery, and service timing

Service and arrival estimates may change because of carriers, customs, weather, holidays, security events, incomplete documentation, or circumstances outside Gedex's reasonable control. Customers must keep contact details current, follow pickup or delivery instructions, and provide identification or authorization when requested. Additional delivery attempts or address corrections may incur a disclosed charge.

Package condition, claims, and unclaimed goods

Report visible loss or damage promptly and provide the tracking number, invoice, photographs, packaging, and any other reasonably requested evidence. Merchant defects, ordinary wear, inadequate packaging, customs action, carrier limitations, and events outside Gedex's reasonable control may affect a claim. Packages left unclaimed for an extended period may be handled in accordance with applicable law after reasonable attempts to contact the customer; accrued charges remain payable.

Privacy, communications, and changes

Gedex may send service messages about accounts, packages, invoices, pickup, delivery, security, and policy changes. Optional marketing follows the customer's available preferences. Rates, schedules, service areas, warehouse information, and these terms may be updated by publishing revised information. These terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica, subject to rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
